Purr 4 Me Pracilla's Precious Blue Boy
June 1994 - April 24, 2008 (13 and 3/4 years)

His name is Blue and He was my familiar. He is 13 and 1/2 years old now and has been diagnosed with the advanced stages of Polycystic Kidney Disease. His time draws near though I don't know what I'll do when he is gone. I can't even fathom it!

I'm so tired of hearing "But, it's just a cat!" Somehow people never say that when it is a dog!!!

He is the first love of my life. He's been with me since the summer between my 9th and 10th grade years (13 and 1/2 years). I was there the day he was born. I was there when his eyes opened. I was there when he was weened from his mother's milk. He moved with us from New Mexico to Idaho and he's been with me longer than I've even known my husband.

He responds to his name, greets me at the door when I get home, and when he looks into my eyes, I swear he can see what I am thinking.

His official name is "Purr 4 Me Pracilla's Precious Blue Boy" and he is a Solid Blue Persian (although he looks a little messy in the picture. (He had just finished Christmas breakfast, and well...slobbering all over a catnip pouch which was his christmas present).

Though he looks grey, when he sits in the sun, his fur actually shines blue! His eyes are huge and copper and his fur is silky soft. When he purrs, it's so soft that you have to feel his throat to be certain. He is not "show quality" meaning his nose is too low and not quite indented enough and his ears are too high on his head as well, but his temprament would have been perfect. He is so sweet and tolerant.

Isn't my Blue the most beautiful thing you have ever seen!?
